The big kick-off is almost here... and Stoke City boss Mark Hughes says he is in a positive frame of mind ahead of the Potters' opening-day trip to big-spending Everton tomorrow.

And why not? The question most Stokies have been asking of late is where's Bruno? And they didn't have to wait long for an answer when the big man put pen to paper on a deal the Potters have been pursuing all summer, although sadly not in time for Bruno Martins Indi to play at Goodison Park. On the down side, fans' favourite Marc Muniesa has left the club to join Catalan side Girona FC, albeit on a season-long loan and not permanently.

The Stoke boss has also confirmed that the Potters have given short shrift to Swansea City inquiries about taking Joe Allen back to South Wales, although they could be back with a £20m offer if media reports are to be believed. And Hughes also revealed that he is in the hunt for a striker to partner £13m January recruit Saido Berahino. Phew! What a day...
