Monaco coach Leonardo Jardim has claimed that star striker Kylian Mbappe was left on the bench last weekend “to protect him” rather than as a punishment. The 18-year-old sensation reportedly wants away from the French champions, with Paris Saint-Germain his favoured destination but Real Madrid also reportedly ready to pay 180 million euros ($211 million) for his services.
Mbappe started Monaco’s first two competitive matches of the season but sat on the bench for the duration of the principality club’s 4-1 Ligue 1 victory at Dijon on Sunday.
Jardim said after that match that dropping Mbappe was a “decision by the club” but the Portuguese coach told media on Wednesday that it was not taken to punish the French international.

“We never punish our players. That is not the right word. ‘Protected’ is a better word. When so many things are happening around an 18-year-old kid, it is our responsibility to protect him,” said Jardim.
“That means me, Vadim (Vasilyev, the vice-president) and the sporting director (Antonio Cordon). It is always to protect the squad, the player and the club.
“Kylian is not at 100 percent. He is not in great form. But that is to be expected of a kid who is just 18… Even you (journalists), if tomorrow another newspaper offers you a contract where you will earn 15 times more, you won’t be so good when it comes to tapping the keys on your computer keyboard,” he added with a smile.
Mbappe, whose Monaco contract runs until June 2019, could again be left out when his side travel to Metz on league duty on Friday evening.“The philosophy at AS Monaco is to play those who are at 100 percent and totally available to the squad,” said the coach, whose side have won their opening two Ligue 1 matches.
If he does not play, either Guido Carrillo or Adama Diakhaby will partner Radamel Falcao – scorer of a hat-trick in Dijon – against Metz.Mbappe won his first four caps for France at the tail end of last season but Jardim accepted that the current situation puts at risk his chances of being called up for his country’s World Cup qualifier against the Netherlands at the end of the month.
But the former Sporting Lisbon boss is more concerned with what losing Mbappe might mean for his squad after seeing Bernardo Silva, Benjamin Mendy, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Valere Germain leave, among others, since winning the title.
“I always say we have to adapt. Those who stay are always the most important. The objective is to be able to play well with those who remain. That is the mentality. I never cry about those who leave.
“I know the transfer market. Twenty percent of it is about buying players to strengthen the team and the other 80 percent is about weakening the opposition and messing things up for everyone else.“It is a strategy. There are only two weeks left. After that it’s finished.”

Rahul Gandhi
Rahul Gandhi
BANGALORE:  Rahul Gandhi, who was inaugurating the Indira Canteen in Bengaluru, addressed the inaugural address on Monday, saying that Amma Canteen, rather than Indira Canteen.
Many of the mistakes made during the speech were: Bengaluru as well as people at a cheaper rate at the Amma canteen across the state. Many of those who heard Rahul Gandhi confused whether Indira was talking about Indira Cantonese or talking about Amma Canteen of Tamil Nadu.
Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi bought KPCC president Parameshwar for Rs 10 and bought Vangibath and inaugurated Indira Kantin.

Don't know why Kamal Haasan is making political statements: Tamil Nadu minister

Revenue Minister RB Udhaya Kumar said that people have been trying to target AIADMK since late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's death.

Kamal Haasan fired a fresh salvo at the ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu virtually calling for Chief Minister E Palaniswamis resignation over alleged corruption.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • 1
Udhaya Kumar said that Edapadi has the clear majority to run the government.
  • 2
Kumar said people have been trying to target AIADMK since Jayalalithaa's death.
  • 3
Minister said merger talks between the 2 factions of the party are underway.
Stung by what he considers unfair criticism of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E Palanisami by veteran actor Kamal Haasan, a senior minister in the state government has hit back at the actor-director.
Revenue Minister RB Udhaya Kumar said that Edapadi has the clear majority to run the government. Udhaya Kumar said that people have been trying to target AIADMK since late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's death. "Don't know why Kamal is making such political statements but there are many people who are trying to target AIADMK after Amma's death".
Commenting on Kamal Haasan's remark on MLAs being held hostage, the minister said, "To kidnap MLAs.. they are not kids. It is all based on ones own interest if a person participates or refrains from an event".
The minister further said that merger talks between the two factions of the party are underway. "There are no specific demands on the positions but we are discussing on the wellbeing of the state and the party cadres."
HAASAN COMES DOWN HEAVILY ON TAMIL NADU CHIEF MINISTER
Moving a step closer to taking the political plunge, actor Kamal Haasan fired a fresh salvo at the ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu virtually calling for Chief Minister E Palaniswami's resignation over alleged corruption.
In a series of tweets, he also invited people "who are brave enough" to take a vow for a new freedom struggle, apparently against corruption.
"If one state's CM should resign for a mishap & corruption under his govt. How come no party calls for resignation in TN. Enough crimes done," Haasan said without naming anyone.
He was apparently referring to the demands by the Congress for the resignation of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over the death of more than 60 children in a government-run hospital in the northern state.
The national award winning actor-director has been critical of the AIADMK of late, alleging corruption in its government, drawing the ire of ministers.
ACTOR DRAWING IRE OF MINISTERS
Palaniswami and his cabinet colleagues had hit out at the actor for his remarks and dared him to substantiate his charges following which he had asked his fans to lodge complaints about corruption through social media.
While Palaniswami had asked Haasan to join politics to elicit response from the government, several of his ministerial colleagues had hit out at the actor asking among other things what his contribution was to the society.
Haasan also said unless there was independence from corruption "we are all slaves".
"Those who are brave enough to take a vow for a new freedom struggle, come we will win," he said.
The "Vishwaroopam" star said his aim was for a better Tamil Nadu and described both DMK, AIADMK and parties as tools, saying other options should be found if such tools become blunt.
"My aim is a better Tamil Nadu. Who dares to strengthen my voice? DMK AIADMK & parties R tools to help. If those tools R blunt find others," he said.
Haasan had recently shared the dais with DMK Working President M K Stalin at a party-organised function.

One night's 'bride': To save marriage, woman has to spend a stranger with night

Maulana becomes one night's adherents

It is as brutal as it sounds as if a large number of clerics take advantage of the compulsion of divorced Muslim women to spend a night with them, who want to save their weddings under Islamic law. This disclosure has come from the investigation of India Today's Special Investigative Team.
These people also take amount from Rs 20,000 to Rs 1.5 lakh to be part of the disbanded Halala's disputed process. According to Nodoh Halala, if a Muslim woman is divorced and she wants to reconnect with her husband, then she has to spend a night before marrying someone else. Then the person has to get divorced. After this, she can marry again with her first husband. There is a similar provision in the personal law.
Maulvi exposed in the investigation of INDIA TODAY
The INDIA TODAY Investigative Team has focused on this taboo ritual in the investigation, on which notice has not been taken as it should have been taken. During the debate in the three divorces on the media and in the Supreme Court of India, the aspect of Halala remained untouched. The investigation of INDIA TODAY exposed many Islamic clerics who, with their charge, looked ready for halala with such women who are desperate to save their broken marriage.
Imam ready to be one night's shoe
Under INDIA TODAY's Under Cover Reporters in Ghaziabad, they first met Mohammad Nadeem. Imam is in Madina Mosque in Lalbagh adjacent to Nadeem Moradabad. The investigation revealed that Nadeem was already married. Underscoring Reporters spoke from Nadeem as a relative of a fictitious divorced Muslim woman . Nadeem showed respect for this woman to become 'one night's shoe'. When the reporter asked Nadeem whether your wife did not refuse, then if there was a reply on whether or not she got the answer, she will not have any objection. The reporter asked again whether you have talked about it with your wife. On this Nadeem said, 'No, I have not talked to him. I have not told him. What is the need to tell him? '
Divorce with guaranteed after the night passes
Imam Nadeem of the Medina Mosque of Lalbagh confessed that he had already done many marriage halala weddings before. This time, he cited the package deal for his entire "service", which included having sex. Nadeem demanded one lakh rupees. He also gave the guarantee that he will divorue after spending a night with the woman, so that according to the personal law, she is able to reconnect with her husband first. INDIA TODAY investigations found that the business of 'one night bride' has become widespread.
Maulvi do his wives like this
The Under Cover cover report of India Tumail in Jamia Nagar, Delhi has turned to Jubair Kasami. Jubair, who has the maulana's ability, already has two wives. In spite of this, Jubair did not take a lot of time to get ready for marriage for the third time in exchange for money. Zubar burst out and said, "I stay out of the night. Managing with two (wives) becomes very easy. The first one seems to be with the other wife.
At the same time, the second wife feels that I am with the first. This is not much harder with two wives. 'Jubber told' Fees' on the basis of Mehr. Mehr is a money or gift that promises to give during the Muslim bride's marriage. Jubair said, "Do not worry about anything. I will make all arrangements. If 30,000 rupees of Mehr is fixed, then 40,000 or 50,000 rupees (for taking part in the marriage). There is no problem in this. '
Divorce in the aftermath of sex
The INDIA TODAY Investigative team approached Mohammad Mustaqim, the next day in Delhi's Darul Uloom Mahmudiya Madarsa. Mastikim, educated in Islamic studies, is ready to spend a night with the divorced women for the marriage of Halala. Moutakim claimed that he had done this work many times before. Moutakim believed, 'There was a woman in the room, I went there and had sex. Before leaving for the morning at 2:30, I divorced him. '
Marriage without formal marriage
Moutakim did the marriage without formal marriage. The Under Cover Reporter asked Moutakim, 'You have been involved in three nihsh Halala. Just really married on one occasion. The other two died without marriage. 'Mastakim confessed,' Yes, without marriage, after sleeping with him, I went away at 1 o'clock. '' Mastakim donated a donation for the madrassa in his fee for this 'service'. Also included included. Moutakim said, 'You have to pay Rs 20,000 for madarsas. I am willing to do this for any amount. I have done this many times before. '
Three Supreme Court judgments on divorce
Let the country of the Supreme Court's decision on three divorces be awaited. Investigation of INDIA TODAY found that the dangerous hawala network of divorced halala is still open for divorced Muslim women. In some cases, the clerics themselves execute the potential deal. Imam Jahirullah of the Mewatian Mosque in Tilgaon, Bulandshahr presented a person as a proposed groom for Nodh Halala in front of the Under Cover Reporters of INDIA TODAY. This man, named Arif, did not give up on his masculinity in spite of having a great age. Arif said, 'My program is set. Today, tomorrow and tomorrow. I am always fit (24x7), mashallah. ' Arif told his fees about 25000 rupees.
Nadiah Halala offers as a professional
Undercover Reporters met Mohammed Zahid in Hapur district of western Uttar Pradesh. Zahid runs seminary in village Sikheheda. Like a professional, Zahid offered his 'service' for the nahod halala. "We will look at this matter," said Zahid. We have a man. This will be done through them. If you do not believe in them then I am always ready for this work. 'The under cover reporter asked,' How much money we have to raise for you. ' Zahid replied - 'Between one lakh and 1.5 lakhs, no, no more than 1.5 lakhs and less than one lakh.'

Nokia 8 with Snapdragon 835 SoC, Carl Zeiss camera launched: Price, specifications, features

Finally, Nokia has launched its premium smartphone that will compete against the likes of Samsung Galaxy S8 and OnePlus 5. Check out all the top features and specifications of the Nokia 8.This is the Nokia smartphone we all have been waiting for.
Ever since HMD Global brought the Nokia brand back to the smartphone market, people have been waiting for a premium Nokia smartphone with top-of-the-line specifications. So far, the company has launched the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 smartphones, which have been pretty much on par with the competition. Finally, Nokia on Thursday announced its flagship smartphone, the Nokia 8, which will take on a range of premium flagship smartphones such as the OnePlus 5, Honor 8 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S8.
The Nokia 8 is priced at €599 (Rs 46,000 approximately) and will go on sale in select markets from next month. There is no official word on the availability of the smartphone in India as yet.
The Nokia 8 doesn’t look very different from the Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 smartphones but comes with subtle improvements such as curvier corners and better built. Featuring an aluminium body, the smartphone measures 151.5mm x 73.7mm x 7.9mm. This makes the Nokia 8 slightly slimmer than the Samsung Galaxy S8, which measures 148.9 x 68.1 x 8.0mm. The Nokia 8 comes with IP54 certification, which makes it splash proof. The Samsung Galaxy S8, on the other hand, has a better IP68 dust and water-resistance rating. The Nokia 8 is available in Polished Blue, Tempered Blue, Steel, Polished Copper colour options.
One of the key highlights of the Nokia 8 is the Carl Zeiss cameras. It may be recalled Nokia and Carl Zeiss have been partners in the past as well. The first smartphone under the partnership between the two was the Nokia N90 in 2004. The Nokia N90 was rated as one of the best camera phones of its time. Later, the duo partnered for phones like the Nokia N95 and Nokia 808 PureView, which featured an overwhelming 41-megapixel sensor.

The 14 most shocking comments from Trump's Charlottesville news conferenceImage result for Charlottesville‬, ‪Virginia‬, ‪Donald Trump‬‬

A day after President Donald Trump gave in to political pressure and denounced, by name, the white supremacists and neo-Nazis who rallied in Charlottesville this past weekend, he reversed course and again claimed "both sides" were to blame for the violence in the Virginia city.
After a brief round of remarks on his plans to revamp US infrastructure, Trump offered to take questions from reporters. Over the next 15 minutes, he defended racist demonstrators, claimed his initial statement was muted because he doesn't like to speak before having all "the facts," and suggested the movement to take down Confederate monuments around the country was an effort to "change history" and "change culture."
Here are Trump's 14 most inflammatory and bizarre statements.

1. On why he waited two days to denounce the racist groups

"I wanted to make sure, unlike most politicians, that what I said was correct, not make a quick statement. The statement I made on Saturday, the first statement, was a fine statement. But you don't make statements that direct unless you know the facts. It takes a little while to get the facts. ... I want to know the facts."

2. On whether the attack that killed Heather Heyer in Charlottesville was 'terrorism'

"You can call it terrorism. You can call it murder. You can call it whatever you want. I would just call it as the fastest one to come up with a good verdict. That's what I'd call it. Because there is a question. Is it murder? Is it terrorism? And then you get into legal semantics. The driver of the car is a murderer. And what he did was a horrible, horrible, inexcusable thing."

3. On whether he has confidence in White House chief strategist Steve Bannon

"He's a friend of mine. But Mr. Bannon came on very late, you know that. I went through 17 senators, governors, and I won all the primaries. Mr. Bannon came on very much later than that, and I like him. He's a good man. He is not a racist, I can tell you that. He's a good person. He actually gets a very unfair press in that regard."

4. When asked about the 'alt-right's' influence in Charlottesville

"What about the 'alt-left' that came charging them? Excuse me. What about the alt-left that came charging at the -- as you say, the alt-right? Do they have any semblance of guilt? ... Let me ask you this. What about the fact they came charging -- that they came charging with clubs in their hands, swinging clubs? Do they have any problem? I think they do."

5. On how he viewed the weekend violence and who was responsible

"I watched those very closely, much more closely than you people watched it. And you have -- you had a group on one side that was bad, and you had a group on the other side that was also very violent, and nobody wants to say that, but I'll say it right now. You had a group -- you had a group on the other side that came charging in without a permit, and they were very, very violent."

6. Defending the 'Unite the Right' demonstrators against accusations of racism

"Not all of those people were neo-Nazis, believe me. Not all of those people were white supremacists, by any stretch. Those people were also there because they wanted to protest the taking down of a statue, Robert E. Lee."

7. Echoing the right-wing argument against removing Confederate monuments

"So this week it's Robert E. Lee. I noticed that Stonewall Jackson's coming down. I wonder, is it George Washington next week? And is it Thomas Jefferson the week after? You know, you all -- you really do have to ask yourself, where does it stop?"

8. On whether he was comparing counter-protesters and white supremacists

"You had a group on one side and you had a group on the other, and they came at each other with clubs and it was vicious and it was horrible. And it was a horrible thing to watch. But there is another side. There was a group on this side, you can call them the left. You've just called them the left -- that came violently attacking the other group. So you can say what you want, but that's the way it is."

9. On who was to blame for the violence

"Well, I do think there's blame -- yes, I think there's blame on both sides. You look at -- you look at both sides. I think there's blame on both sides. And I have no doubt about it, and you don't have any doubt about it either. ... But you also had people that were very fine people, on both sides. ... You had people in that group that were there to protest the taking down of, to them, a very, very important statue and the renaming of a park from Robert E. Lee to another name."

10. On Thomas Jefferson

"Are we going to take down the statue (of Jefferson)? Because he was a major slave owner. Now, are we going to take down his statue? So you know what? It's fine. You're changing history. You're changing culture. And you had people, and I'm not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists, because they should be condemned totally. But you had many people in that group other than neo-Nazis and white nationalists."

11. Comparing George Washington to Robert E. Lee

"George Washington was a slave owner. Was George Washington a slave owner? So, will George Washington now lose his status? Are we going to take down -- excuse me -- are we going to take down -- are we going to take down statues to George Washington?"

12. On the media coverage of the 'Unite the Right' rally

"And the press has treated them absolutely unfairly. Now, in the other group also, you had some fine people, but you also had troublemakers and you see them come with the black outfits and with the helmets and with the baseball bats. You've got -- you had a lot of bad -- you had a lot of bad people in the other group."

13. After being asked if he's spoken to the family of Heather Heyer

"I'll be reaching out. ... I was very -- I thought that the statement put out -- the mother's statement I thought was a beautiful statement. I must tell you, I was -- it was something that I really appreciated. I thought it was terrific. And really, under the -- under the kind of stress that she's under and the heartache that she's under, I thought putting out that statement to me was really something I won't forget."

14. On Charlottesville
